Capital Day School is excellent for critical thinkers! The freedom from government testing and parochial requirements allows CDS students to learn through exploration, study, debate, and play. The atmosphere on campus encourages independence, personal responsibility, and fun!
Preschool 3 year olds to grade 8. Preschool has teachers with 4 year degrees!! Assistants are extremely well educated also. Most are long-term employees. Very loving and help children transition easily to next learning level. I am so glad I found this school for my daughter, with a little help from the facility and staff at Capital Day she is turning out to be a great child!
As a teacher there, CDS is not just my workplace, but a community I am happy to be part of. I can't wait for my son to be old enough to go to school there!
CDS is a pre-k3 through 8th grade school that gives students the strategies needed to be lifelong learners and thinkers. It is a school where kids love to be. Every year, I watch our 8th graders graduate as confident, high achieving individuals.
I have learned so much at Capital Day School. I am in the 8th grade and I have learned so much throughout my years at CDS. We have fun while learning. Our classes consist of fun activities and group work. CDS will get me prepared for high school. I have enjoyed my years at CDS and I can't wait to take what I have learned to the next level.
What a fantastic little school! What it lacks in curb appeal- let's be honest it's not the best looking school out there- it more than makes up for in heart. The teachers love teaching, and their passion for their students is tangible. The students are happy, eager, and always doing something creative and fun. Just a few minutes in the classrooms or Hall's will make it clear what a wonderful place it is to be for a child. (They have 3 year- 8th grade)
